A graduate of Brooklyn College (CUNY) and Seton Hall University School of Law, Ken is a seasoned community advocate with a distinguished professional record. He works tirelessly with city and state officials, government agencies and private entities, educational institutions, and health organizations to make Brooklyn a better place for all its citizens.

Ken Evans is the President of the Community Health Care Task Force in Brooklyn, former Chair of the Community Advisory Board of the State University Health Science Center in Brooklyn (Downstate), former Board Member of the New York State Regional Transplant Program and was a
member of the Health Systems Agency of NYC's Planning Committee and Ambulatory Care Task Force.

An advocate for Economic Advancement, Education, Housing Rights and Safety…
Ken Evans served as Brooklyn Borough Director of the New York Urban League for nearly a decade, on the Police Athletic League Board of Directors, and as a member of the New York City Police Department's Brooklyn Racial Bias Task Force.

Ken's work has resulted in the creation of programs including child protection services, youth conservation, community improvement, and job training programs.

Ken is a staunch champion of patients and health care professionals and an unwavering supporter of critical medical innovation and health care for the entire borough.

Track Record – in brief…
o Former Executive Director, New York Urban League's Brooklyn Branch
o Creator, Service to Families Program – advocating for families and providing families with counseling, and tutoring in Creole, Spanish and English.
o Founder, Brooklyn Racial Bias Task Force – to improve police sensitivity
o Community Liaison - engaged companies to create and support job training, apprenticeship and scholarship opportunities for community youth.
o Creator, Fair Housing Program – assisted apartment seekers, provided legal aid to tenants facing eviction and housing discrimination; opposed landlords' efforts to end rent stabilization.
o Former Chair, Community Advisory Board at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn – primary spokesperson for the Center's physicians, nurses, staff and patients regarding community health care issues.
o Played an instrumental role in getting the State Health Department to address the high mortality rate of Brooklyn residents, resulting from the lack of quality treatment for heart conditions.
